Bill Crawford
Bill Crawford, Director of Retail Publishing Programs at New Hope Natural Media, spent 12 years on the
management team of one of the most dynamic and growing retail chains in the natural products industry, with
his primary responsibilities in the areas of Purchasing, Marketing and Category Management. In his role at
New Hope, Bill helps develop relevant tools for retailers to reach their potential in the marketplace. He also
writes the “Practical Manager” column for the Natural Foods Merchandiser and has a blog on the Natural
Foods Merchandiser website.

Frances Drennen
In the early seventies she and her partner supported the venture of opening a store by working additional jobs.
In 1980 they opened a 2,000 square foot store, Manna Grocery. In 1989 they moved to the current location,
an 8,000 square foot grocery and deli offering a complete selection on supplements, herbs and foods. They
employ 20 employees.
As co-owner and co-founder of Manna Grocery in Tuscaloosa, AL, Frances currently manages finance,
personnel and the daily operations.

Phill Eddy
Phil has over 30 years experience in the distribution business; spending 12 of those years in sales and
purchasing for a national distributor of health and beauty care products, general merchandise, and pet
products. Phil then spent ten years in the food brokerage business in the Southeast. Phil joined TOL in 1997
and has held positions in purchasing, merchandising, and category management.
Phil has over 30 years experience in the distribution business; spending 12 of those years in sales and

products. Phil then spent ten years in the food brokerage business in the Southeast. Phil joined TOL in 1997
and has held positions in purchasing, merchandising, and category management.
Connie Falkenstein, MPH, MS, RD
Connie is a registered dietitian and licensed nutritionist with Masters degrees in Microbiology and
Public Health. She is Director of Marketing and Education at UAS Laboratories, a leader in
probiotics. After a successful career in marketing with the food and healthcare industries, Connie
became a registered dietitian in order to better serve the health and wellness needs of the people
in her community and beyond. Prior to joining UAS Laboratories, Connie had a private practice
counseling individuals on nutrition and providing nutrition guidance to the community of Punta
Gorda, Florida.

| Aaron Gottlieb Aaron Gottlieb is the owner and operator of Native Sun Natural Foods Market, a certified organic supermarket with two locations in Jacksonville, FL. Since opening the business in 1997, Aaron’s standards for product quality and research have earned him the role of industry watchdog as well as national awards including WholeFoods Magazine’s 2008 Retailer of the Year and Health Foods Business’ list of Top 100 Health Food Stores in the U.S. Today, Native Sun includes two locations totaling over 28,500 sq. ft. with a hot bar, organic salad bar, deli, juice and smoothie bar and over 140 employees. The stores also provide guided walkthroughs, a shopping system for customers with special diets, and FREE health seminars. In 2008, Aaron started the Native Sun GreenApples program dedicated to living and giving locally through store-driven initiatives and donations. |

Mr. Germano is a registered, certified nutritionist and holds a Master’s degree in clinical nutrition from New
York University. With over 30 years experience using innovative, complementary nutritional therapies in clinical
practice, research and product development, he is also the author of several best selling books on the subject
of nutrition. He has held several VP of Research & Product Development positions with major companies and
has a consulting company for the dietary supplement, medical foods and functional beverage markets. He is a
frequent radio guest and lecturer.

Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia and his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine
from Bastyr University of Natural Health Sciences in Seattle, Washington.
For the past 15 years, Dr. Morello has been training and educating physicians, pharmacists and health experts
on the scientific use of natural medicines in the fields of cardiology, immunology, gastroenterology, anti-aging
and detoxification. Contributing author to the authoritative text on Alternative Medicine, A Textbook of Natural
Medicine, he is also author of The Fiber Miracle. Lecturer and regular contributor to a number of magazines,
